Dorgem is (was) a rather unique webcam surveillance tool for Windows. Although it is hard to say whether surveillance was the goal its developers had in mind, Dorgem has everything you need to set up a nice webcam monitoring system at home. It is an open source application which has been discontinued but still remains totally functional. Dorgem allows you to monitor your webcam footage and then do a lot of things with it. You can create timestamps and add images to the footage or even send it to other computers. Thanks to its FTP functionality, the footage can actually be sent to a server or published on a website. Perhaps, the best feature that you can find in Dorgem is motion detection. The application allows you to put your webcam in stand-by mode and have it start whenever it detects movements in its field of view, which is really great for a surveillance tool. Dorgem supports an unlimited number of webcam footage and it also does not limit the amount of watermarks and timestamps that you can add.
